We absolutely loved this place! The food and service were amazing! Such a unique selection and definitely did not disappoint!

Takashi is voted Utah's best sushi restaurant so of course we had to come here!! I did go a little crazy with the rolls but have absolutely no regrets because everything was EXQUISITE. The little mermaid was made with tuna, scallops, spicy sauce, shiso, and wasabi tobiko. I don't know much about what shiso or wasabi tobiko is but I'm not questioning it because this roll was great. I love tuna rolls. The spicy maguro has to be the cutest roll I've ever eaten :,) it was fresh tuna and spicy sauce no this is a traditional maki sushi. I think it may have been my favorite out of all the rolls I tried because of the spicy sauce. The perfect amount was dolloped on top of the little roll love it The spider roll was a big boy. It's crispy soft-shelled crab with kaiware sprouts, eel sauce, spicy sauce, and sesame seeds. This roll was so good. Honestly, just put eel sauce on anything and I'm game. The california maki was just imitation crab with avocado and sesame seeds. Solid classic roll. I love getting california's.

Takashi is good but honestly overhyped. There was absolutely nothing wrong with what we ordered and we did enjoy the food, but the price tag was testament to the fact the place is overhyped. It is usually hard to get a table without a wait, and the price of their food is noticeably higher than other sushi spots in Utah. The fish in the sushi tastes fresh, but I still think it's priced too high for what it is. It's great for Utah sushi, but still not quite at the caliber of sushi spots in some other western states. The service we had was fine, and the inside of the restaurant is nice, but again, you always need to plan for a wait time to get a table as they don't do reservations for dinner. For how much hassle that may be, we just don't gravitate toward coming here.

Wonderful experience! Visiting from California on a work trip and came in at 8:30. Place was packed but since I was a party of one, they were able to seat me quickly at the counter. Both the sushi chef and server offered to help answer any questions. I ended up going with the premium nigiri and little mermaid roll. Both were quite delicious. The chef Zach, creates some delicious nigiri combinations. It was packed for 8:30 on a Wednesday but the restaurant had a nice energy to it and enjoyed my overall experience!

Very worth the wait. This was my second time here and it was just as amazing 2 years later. Everything tasted high quality and fresh, and was complimented with the perfect sauces. Very hard to choose but if I had to, I'd say the pork belly and yellow submarine were my favorites. Good service, and a lovely ambiance..I see why this is considered to be the best sushi in SLC!

And so we visited SLC again and Takashi was on the must have list. We went on a Thursday night around 7:30 and we had to wait more than 40 minutes to get seated, which was worth it. It was very crowded on a Thursday night. We ordered miso soup which traditionally comes without spoons, but you can ask for a spoon if you'd like (that's what I did). We ordered the special roll of that night which had salmon and peach, the spider roll, the black magic woman roll, the box roll, and imagine roll. All were good in their own unique way. We thoroughly enjoyed the rolls again which were very fresh and yummy. They are slightly more expensive than other good sushi places, but very much worth it. One thing I didn't care about were the chopsticks. I really liked how they look and feel, but once I used them to eat, they were slicing through the rolls because they are very thin and plasticky sharp.

This was on my must try list and so so glad that my work group decided to come here for dinner. All the rolls were super fresh with lots of different flavors. The consensus at my table was that the Magic Dragon was the best! It was perfect size and had great contrasting flavors with the eel, avocado and spiced crab. I also loved the Takashi Hakozushi as it was pretty and had four different fishes. A few of these had these little spicy peppers that I took out because it was very spicy. Overall, a great sushi spot, although a little on the pricey end. Parking was fairly easy as there were surface lots. Our server was super friendly, however it was challenging to get a big group like us seated initially. We weren't able to get reservations but got tables as a separate group.

BEST SUSHI IN TOWN! We went and the wait time was 1 hour long. Luckily there were seats available at the Post ( restaurant next door) and we were able to wait comfortably. The waitress was friendly but quite busy so we had to wait to place the order. We started with torched Sable fish and OMG! It was smoky, buttery and just melted in the mouth. We order some Tuna ceviche which was mouthwatering as well. Next we order couple of rolls - strawberry field so so refreshing! - forest Gump: sweet and spicy -sunshine: again unique and refreshing - Buddha: pretty amazing for being vegetarian! We finished out meal with they gyoza which were ojay at best. Overall, this by far is the best sushi I have had in SLC and I would hight recommend this place to any sushi lovers . Just plan in advance and reserve because the wait-line is pretty long.

Great experience here! Service is great and food is top quality! They are popular and get very busy so you may have to wait without a reservation. The seafood is extremely fresh which helps with the quality. The place is very hip and happening and the set up is very nice. I'm in Utah once a year and this is always a must go stop for me each time. They always exceed expectations!!
